Why a bank rejects a QR bill

Rejections almost always come from three sources: a combined address produced by old invoicing software, a wrongly copied reference, or a mismatch between the account type and the reference type. The validator tells them apart and shows the expected value when it can be calculated.

If the QR bill comes from a supplier, the simplest course is to send them the error message: the fix is made in their invoicing software. If it is yours, the generator produces a compliant slip.

Checking every supplier invoice, automatically

This check, done by hand for one invoice, is exactly what Dossivio Capture does for every invoice received: reading the code, checking the IBAN against the known supplier, detecting duplicates, preparing the booking. A person signs off, and an IBAN that changes from one invoice to the next is flagged before payment.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is my image sent anywhere?

No. The image is read in your browser by a library hosted on this site; it is neither uploaded nor stored.

Does the validator read PDFs?

Not directly. Open the PDF, take a screenshot of the QR code (Windows: Win+Shift+S, Mac: Cmd+Shift+4) and paste it here.

The code cannot be read. What should I do?

Crop the screenshot to the code and its white margins, at a sufficient resolution. A code printed smaller than 46 mm, or creased, may not be readable.

Is a "compliant" QR bill necessarily legitimate?

No. Technical compliance says nothing about the sender. Always compare the IBAN with the one you know for this supplier: the IBAN checker at least tells you whether it is a QR-IBAN and which bank it belongs to.
