The three control mechanisms

Thresholds you set
Above an amount, below a confidence level, or on a named list of cases, human sign-off becomes mandatory and cannot be bypassed by a setting. Those thresholds are written into the contract.

A visible exception queue
A file that leaves the automated path is not quietly set aside. It appears in a queue, with the reason for the doubt and what it lacks. A stuck file nobody can see is the real risk in an automated system.

A complete log
Who approved what, when, on which version of the document, and what the system had proposed before correction. Human corrections are retained: they serve both to tune the rules and to evidence the control.
Reversibility
Your documents and your data stay yours, in your systems. Dossivio orchestrates a process; it does not become the system of record for your files.
At the end of the relationship, the processing rules and the operations log are handed back in a usable format, and intermediate data is deleted following a procedure described in the contract.
In practice, stopping Dossivio must return you to the manual handling you had before, not leave you with a process whose rules nobody knows any more. It is the point we recommend checking with any automation supplier.
Hosting and subprocessors
The target architecture provides for hosting and backups in Switzerland. Processing locations, subprocessors and their commitments are named in the contract rather than described in general terms. What is not in the contract is not a commitment.
